Swisscom data centre receives the highest globally recognised quality award
Swisscom’s data centre in Bern-Wankdorf has been awarded Tier IV Design Certification by the Uptime Institute. This is the first data centre in Switzerland to receive this coveted award and thus meets the highest global standard, with fully redundant subsystems, compartmentalised security zones and biometric access controls.
For the fourth year in a row, SAP (Switzerland) AG presented the SAP Quality Award to Swisscom customers. Oetiker Group and Geistlich Pharma AG were honoured with the Gold and Silver rankings, respectively.
From 2016 onwards, Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) will process its payment transactions through Swisscom. In addition to operating and maintaining the technical solution, Swisscom will also handle banking-specific business processes on ZKB's behalf. For this reason, 20-30 of the bank's staff will move to Swisscom. The contract will run for at least seven years from the launch date. The two sides have agreed not to disclose financial details of the deal.
